Technological libraries and the management of enterprises. Tasks and methods in the organization of Information transfer

Abstract

The rapid changes in the economic environment of an enterprise demand quick and effective decisions in unexpected situations. Consequently, a new-type information system is needed, in which the technological library plays an important role. In order to include the library in the information processes, the subject fields of management as well as the categories of decisions are reviewed. The problems of information sources, information channels, the forms of processing and the timing of distribulion are analyzed. Finally, a system is proposed, by which the provision of management information could be solved in three controlling processes. Apart from the library, the management should also contribute to the establishment and operation of the system by the presentation of information needs and by the evaluation of the services received.
