The use of the information publications and services of the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre (OMKDK) in county libraries

Abstract

According to a survey conducted in four county libraríes in 1980, the role and interest of large public libraries in the transfer of scientifíc and technicai information is constantly increasing. The use of information publications has also increased, however, the number of regular users is not yet sufficient. Some contacts between county libraries and industrial libraries have also been formed. Experiences call for the strengthening of these contacts as well as that of the cooperation between OMKDK and the county libraries in order to improve the dissemination of information in the country. The county libraries have also to be taken into consideration in the planning of the scientific and technical information system of Hungary.
