Anticipated development trends of information sources production in the world

Quantitative increase in the amount of scientific, technical, economic and organizational information produced all over the world is caused by influence of the series of different factors. While in the past the rate of this increase was evidently of exponential character, opinions on the future increase of information sources number (i. e. primary documents) are diversified. The analysis of statistical data points out to developmental trends in number of various kinds of published and unpublished documents. Since there are still existing serious disadvantages of publications issued in traditional forms, information services in the world are deeply interested in any attempts of publication forms modernization, especially in those enabling to speed up editorial processes, as weil as to make economics in production costs and in information storage (i. e. collections handling costs).
