Abstract

The report describes the organization, the development and the services of the branch information system for instrumentation engineering of the USSR, with special attention to the automated system Referat establablished in 1971. The main tasks in the further development of Referat include the establishment of a network of automated information centres, the elaboration of guidelines for data retrieval, the extension of international co-operation.
