Abstract

As an international organization for economic research and consultancy the EIU has been founded in 1946 in London. Although associated with The Economist it operates separately and is entirely independent of outside control. Its main activities include economic studies, data collection and publication of periodicals and monographs. The article describes the activity of the EIU and provides information on the location of its publications in library collections in Hungary.
