Abstract

Presently the majority of computerized information systems provides — in continuation of the tradition of libraries — documentary information services. As a consequence, analized information and data information needed by engineers in their activities are not directly available for them, they have to process analyses and data themselves. By describing some features of computer-aided engineering design systems the author shows that this problem can be solved by integrating computerized scientific and technical information systems with computerized engineering design systems.
