The system of publications in the All-Union Institute for Scientific and Technical Information

Abstract

This report gives an account on the development and activities of the scientific information branch of VINITI. As one of its results, the VTNITI's system of publications has been developed during the past 25 years. This system is based on the serials Referativnyj Zurnal (RÍ), Ekspress Informacija (El), Signal'naja Informacija (SI) and the series ltogi Nauki i Tehniki (INT). The report gives a detailed description of the role these publications play in the system of information supply. It discusses the problems associated with the development of an international information system on pubhshed documents (MISOD) organized within the International Scientific and Technical Information System of the socialist countries.
