Technical information nowadays

Abstract

Technical book publishing is very much influenced by tlie phenomena called information explosion, information or publication flood, information inflation, etc. The multiple publication of information in various forms is not necessarily to be condemned and refused since it might help in to the better understanding and easier utilization of information. Conventional methods are already inadequate to cope with the continually increasing volume and complexity of information: the application of computer and reprographic technologies is indispensable. This trend is effective in our country as well as in the socialist and other countries. The number and importance of international information systems and services are increasing as a consequence of the increasing volume and the international character of information. Due to the new economic tasks the scientific and technical information system of the country needs to be modernized and improved.
