Keywords:
-Abstract
The activity of VINITI is concentrated on current processing of the world's scientific and technical literature and the subsequent editing and publication of abstract journals (Referativnüj Zsurnal) and current bibliographic lists (Szignal'naja Informácija). In 1974 1,2 million abstracts were prepared from 35 thousand periodical and monographic information sources. Growing importance is attached to state-of-the-art reports (analytical surveys) based on the retrospectiv processing of information sources as well as to progress reports (over 200 in 1975) covering the trends of scientific and technical development. SDI services have been organized for members of the Academy of Sciences and for leading experts in computer sciences. Mechanized complex information services will be provided on individual request by the integrated system ASSISTENT which will supply textual and/or data information on display on requests.
