DEVSIS - first steps towards the design of an international information system for the development sciences

Abstract

The author, member of the DEVSIS Study Team, describes the circumstances preceeding the planning of the Development Science Information System. She points to those aspects of systems engineering which could be taken over from the experiences of existing international co-operative information systems. She describes the prospective users, the planned services and the organizational structure of DEVSIS and explaines the advantages of the participation in the system for co-operating countries.
