Abstract

The author - citing some well-known specialists - expounds his original ideas on general problems of information. Special attention is given to the role of information in decision-making, in inventions and innovations, in economic life, in enterprises and in the sciences. The definition of information activity is analyzed. The way out from the present information crisis is indicated by the specialization and selection of information, by the more effective applications of the results of mechanization and automation.
