National multidisciplinary SDI system and service in thie Library of the Technical University of Stockholm

Abstract

The exponential growth of literature and the growing difficulties of information retrieval were at the origin of the idea and the practical implementation of SDI systems based on computere. The big costs and capabilities of computerized information systems resulted in the trend of their centralization. The multidisciplinary SDI system of the Technical University of Stockholm is a good example of an SDI system planned to fulfil nation-wide information needs.
