Teaching and learning of language transmission

Abstract

Organizations, curricula and examination systems of European highschools in Paris, Geneva, and translators are dealt with. The highschools in Paris, Geneva, Vienna and Heidelberg are discussed in details, the main problems concerning teaching and learning of language transmission are specified. Final conclusion of the author is that these useful and succesful training methods should be applied as soon as possiole also in Hungary, but such a training has to be connected with increased social acknowledgement for translation and interpretation activities.
