The Central Library of the Technical University of Budapest in 1973

Abstract

The library celebrated its 125th anniversary in 1973. The jubilee was commemorated by a special session and by an exhibition illustrating and analyzing the history of the Library. During the year the Library registered 10 437 readers and put 235 643 volumes into circulation. 483 282 xerox and 16 351 photocopies were made for 5264 customers. Reference librarians compiled 28 bibliographies with 1785 entries. Courses on information source were attended by some 350 university students. Active publication exchange was carried out with 933 institutions in 73 countries. The book collection increased vith 10 252 volumes, the special collections with 5097 units and that of the periodicals with 2013 current titles. The library stock consists of 304 473 volumes of books, 79 864 units in the various special collections. The number of volumes of periodicals is 79 623, that of the other serials is 7118.
