Scientific and Technical Information System of the COMECOM countries

Abstract

The "Complex program" whose function is to further the development of the socialist and economic integration of the COMECOM countries help set as an aim the creation of a scientific and technical information system. The purpose of the information system on national level it to concert the co-operation of activities of the various scientific and technical systems; on international level it promotes the evolution of the information sub-systems and their proper branches based on specific types of information. Within the scope of goal-setting a Centre for International Scientific and Technical Information has also been established by the member countries. Since the start of the program significant progress has been made. Characteristic features that mark this undertaking are compatibility and succes in the organization of the international system itself, its branches and specific sub-systems made possible by improved technical and methodological condition.
