The Central Library of thg Technical University of Budapest 1972
Abstract
In 1972 the book collection increased with 11.343 volumes, the special collections (standards, patents, dissertations etc.) with 5089 units. According to the invantory the library stock consisted of 295.330 volumes of books and 74.773 units in the various special collections. The number of volumes of periodicals was 76.360, that of other serials 6339.
The Library supplied 419.345 xerox- and 15.351 photo-copies for 4982 costumers.
Courses on literature-search, organized by the Central Library, were attended by 400 students. Reference libraries compiled 41 special bibliographies (with 4813 entries) and 7 data compilations for the teaching staff of the University. A study was published on the third level educational institutions and specialization-system in France. Active publication exchange was proved by regular connections with 920 institutions in 72 countries. In the field of science-history the Library published a monosraphy covering the first hundred years of its history. Joining to IFLA meetings the library was the host-or-ganizer of the last year's IATUL board meeting.
