Abstract

The 37th Conference of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) in Liverpool involved 749 participants. The Conference was preceded by a three-day seminar for 27 librarians having come from developing countries. The number of Hungarian delegates was 13. The Conference was held at the over 100 year old Liverpool City Libraries. The plenary sessions were discuesing "The organizatlon of library profession" as their main topic. The author sums up the topics of practically all sections. At the concluding plenary session, Mr. R. VOSPER was elected vice-president. The organization's Executive Board sat in private to discuss, among others, the preparations for the 1972 Conference of IFLA to be held in Budapest, and accepted the preliminary program submitted by the Hungarian delegation. Several Hungarian committees are engaged in preparing the Budapest Conference, the program and tasks of which are briefly outlined in the article.
