Abstract

Papers from the publication of the BAHIL (European Association of Health Information and Librarles) Conference, Budapest, Hungary

A thorough overview is presented of the present status and development trends of electronic journal publication. Pros and cons of this format are analysed. In the fields of biomedical sciences and engineering, traditional forms of journals are much preferred relative to other subject fields which, however, does not exclude the use of really favourable electronic media. The conviction of the author is pointed out that printed and electronic journal forms will coexist in the near future.
