Distance educatlon and public library supply

Abstract

LISTED is a project within the library projects of EU. Its purpose is to involve public libraries in open and distance education systems aided by individual leaming and recent information technology tools. The support means to make available leaming packages for individual leaming and fiterature for reference, as well as managing consultation opportunities and to support orientation in distance leaming programs available in order to help selection. In 1998 this project was extended to Central and Eastem Europe. In this region Hungary was the first to join: two county libraries in Békés county and Kecskemét, as well as the Distance Leaming Center of the Technical University as expert have joined the project.
