Abstract

In the depressing literature case of the so-called but false "Ortega Hypothesis" the problematic phenomenon of non-formal therefore non-indexed "eponimical" citedness of fundamental-essential ("paradigmatical") scientific results and of tools generally used in the research has been raised. This phenomenon as one of the methodological problems of the citation analysis "case" was considered as quite unimportant by science-sociometrologists neglecting it in their study, and it was considered as most significant by a critical physicist finding the disregard of the phenomenon as the most grave defect of the authors' citation analysis. This phenomenon of scientific literature was not yet inves-tigated and therefore its frequency and importance was unknown, so the contradicting unproved opinions became unproductively rigid in the undecided discussion of the "Ortega Hypothesis" case. In order to rule upon the disputed question and furthermore as a continuation of his previous examinations of indexed-formal reference stock of scientific journal articles the author made an extensive investigation to establish the unknown frequency and the true importance of this problematic phenomenon of scientific literature, from the viewpoint of citation indexes, in physicai journal literature which occurred in the discussion. Hence, the citation analysis literature case mentioned above did not gave the aims but (only) the motive of the author's investigation, indicating merely Its research field: the physicai journal literature. Thus, the significance of the prospective results of this investigation will transcend the mental limits of the "Ortega Hypothesis" literature case. The results of the investigation will be communicated in the form of a series of publications. This first publication of the series makes known the method of the investigation and the methodological decisions of the author.
